SNSU Wraps Up its First Virtual AACCUP Accreditation 2022.

August 19, 2022. Surigao Del Norte State University’s first virtual AACCUP Accreditation successfully completed with remarkable notes from the accreditors of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities, Inc. (AACCUP)
Nine University Academic programs of Surigao Del Norte State University (SNSU) formerly Surigao State College of Technology (SSCT) have undergone Level II accreditation by the  AACCUP from August 15-19, 2022 via Zoom and google meet space in pursuit of achieving the highest standard of education.
    The esteemed accreditors of the 2nd survey were composed of trusted professors from different State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) for level II evaluation headed by the AACCUP Coordinator, Dr. Analyn M. Gamit from Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST).
    During the Opening Program, Dr. Analyn M. Gamit  (NEUST) reminded the University AACCUP Executive committees and taskforce for Level II, that it is mandatory to excel in five areas which are research, instruction, community extension services, international linkages and planning.
    The programs in SNSU Mainit Campus which underwent the 2nd survey are the Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (BAT) , Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education-Agri-Fishery Arts (BTLED-AFA/ and Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry (BSAF).
   The Bachelor of Technical Livelihood Education, documents were evaluated by with Dr. Shella D. Dela Cruz and  Dr. Jhoanna B. Calubaquib from Cagayan State University (CagSu) and Dr. Consuelo D. Estigoy from Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST).
    The Bachelor of Agricultural Technology, documents were evaluated by by Dr. Gloria D. Tuzon from Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC), Dr. Cynthia L. Payonga  from Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) and Dr. Consuelo D. Estigoy from    Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST).
   The Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry documents were evaluated by Dr. Roseller R.  Ayson from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) , Prof. Reynalen C. Paray from Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology  (CFCST) and Dr. Emerson V. Barcellano of  Isabela State University (ISU).
     In the AACCUP evaluation process, nine areas in each programs were assessed, which include: (1) governance and management; (2) teaching, learning and evaluation; (3) faculty and staff; (4) research; (5) extension, consultancy and linkage; (6) support for students; (7) library; (8) infrastructure and other learning resources; and (9) quality assurance culture. Each each of these areas were supported with question and answer,  validation of the supporting documents with the survey team who later had a closed-door discussion.
     During the last day of the Survey and Exit Meeting, each AACCUP accreditors delivered their overall impression for the Level II valuation. While the survey team pointed out areas for improvement, they also highlighted the commendable presentation of documents, and best practices in each programs proving the  whole willingness of the University to participate in accreditation.
    The esteemed accreditors also thanked the local task force , the faculty, students, and alumni who answered their questions with authority and conviction which was a manifestation that the programs are ready for the 3rd cycle. While no official results have been announced, the accreditors have already expressed their sincere congratulations to the entire SNSU community.
“Thank you program counterparts and task force for being responsive and continue your journey to Quality Assurance and embrace the principle of continuous improvement. Kudos!”, said Prof. Paray.
    Each of the campus directors from across all campuses also delivered their relevant responses to the flow and efforts of all taskforces and executive comittees of the university. Mr. Edwin C. Escobal, the Campus Director of SNSU Mainit Campus addressed his pledge of commitment to the administration and AACCUP accreditors to comply evaluation  recommendations for the betterment of the institution.
   ” In behalf of SNSU Mainit Campus, we truly committ to comply all the necessary recommendations, suggestions and findings by the accreditors per area to ensure that the campus fully complies to the standards set by AACCUP. Rest assured that all valuable inputs from the accreditors will be incorporated to our files”, said Sir Escobal.
    Meanwhile, after the pledge of commitment given by the  campus directors, the Awarding of Certificate of Recognition was given to all the Accreditors for AACCUP Level II Evaluation in greatful recognition for their commendable effort and salient recommendation for improvement in each programs.
   The SNSU’s University President, Dr. Gregorio Z. Gamboa Jr. also expressed in his Response Message and Commitment speech his  eminent gratitude to AACCUP accreditors, “I condemn my heartfelt gratitude to all the AACCUP practitioner who conducted the survey of the institution. You spend so much of your valued time to be with us. In behalf of this university, the management is ready, not only today but ever since the beginning. We will continue to support this kind of endeavor because this is the only way to duly improve our institution”, said Dr. Gamboa.
   In behalf of the management, the president assured an increased support from them for the improvement of the institution.
    ” Rest assured with my management, with my leadership, together with the Vice Presidents,  Campus Directors, Program Chairs, Deans and Non-teaching personnels, that we will give all the support no matter what we have done today and even before. We shall increase support that each and every program will be able to achieve the objectives in line with the vision of the institution.”
    Concluding the ceremony, Dr. Gamboa expressed his gratitude to the task force for their efforts in accommodating the accreditors and preparing the documents.
    “Thank you so much, to the men and women of SNSU, inspite of the tough game in  quality assurance. Remember, we are  doing this not only for ourselves, not only for the institution but for our nation in search of greater heights”.
   The five-day grueling week is done and the SNSU community is now excited for the release of official results of AACCUP Level II Accreditation 2022.
